More Risks for Young Drivers
Driving Remains a Dangerous Activity for Today’s Youth
David R. Smith

I want a motorcycle. Badly. My wife knows this. It’s an ongoing argument – I mean discussion – in my house. But every time there’s a car accident in our city, my wife says, “See, that’s why you can’t buy a motorcycle.”

If new data about young drivers is true, I’m never gonna get my...
JONATHAN'S BLOG: Four conversations parents must have
As requests are coming in for speaking this fall, I wanted to let you know about a new workshop I'm launching... FOUR CONVERSATIONS! It's the first parent workshop I'm doing where I have parents and kids in the same room!

Right now my go-to workshop for parents is PARENTING THE SMARTPHONE GENERATION... I taught this workshop in almost 30 churches in the U.S. last year. For those churches, this new workshop is a natural next step to opening up the doors of dialogue about these important issues with families.

My goal is to start conversations in the workshop that will continue in the home.

The workshop focuses on helping young people think before they post, the focus of my new book, The Teen's Guide to Social Media & Mobile Devices (here's a recent TV interview about the importance of these conversations).

For more information on how to book me for one of these workshops, just visit my PARENT WORKSHOPS page or click here to CONTACT ME ABOUT BOOKING one of these workshops.

Stand By Me
At some point in life, all of us will need someone to stand by us. This resource from our YOUTUBE DISCUSSION STARTERS page helps us make sure we’re standing by others so they will do the same for us.

Discussion Starter: Stand by Me
A group of producers known as Playing for Change have launched several music videos on YouTube that have garnered the attention of millions around the world. Basically, this group scouts unknown street acts and asks them to record a well-known song…alongside several other artists. In the end, what you have is a song being played and sung by a couple dozen folks on multiple continents. Yep, it’s a cool

Kickball Injury Saves Life

What should we do when bad things happen to us? This resource from our SPIRITUAL GROWTH AGENDAS page shows us why we might consider giving thanks to God!

Discussion Starter: Kickball Miracle
It was a normal game of kickball, by a normal group of kids, on a normal 4th of July. Even when the ball struck 9-year-old Jacob Holdaway in the head during the course of play, most labeled it a fairly normal occurrence for that particular game.
