NOTE FROM JONATHAN: I think one of the best ways we can point to Christ is through "acts of service."
I'm not talking about handing out tracks or "door knocking"... I'm talking about good ol' fashion helping
people in need. And if people ask why, we simply answer, "Because that's what Jesus would have done,
and we're pretty excited about Jesus."
Three church's combined forces, mixed up all of the teens (60 in all) and divided into three separate work groups. We painted a women's shelter, we installed playground equipment, and we painted a house (simultaneously) in just about 4 hours. A day of hard work was followed by a night of games, praise & worship, fellowship, and tons of laughs, in an all-night lock-in format. Homemade donuts were the highlight of the morning after.
This combined effort resulted in some incredible bonding between three different churches. To this day, many of my kids are in touch with many of the kids from these other churches. Many of these kids had never performed any community service and are now in tune with the heart of a servant.
